NSW Announces New Migration Plan For General Skilled Migration

NSW Announces New Migration Plan For General Skilled Migration

A new list of occupations has been announced by the government of New South Wales for skilled migration.

Compared to the previous one, the new list has more occupations, shorter work experience and lower English requirements. This is good news for anyone who is planning to apply for General Skilled (points tested) visa to migrate to Australia.

Below are some of the occupations included in the list:

·         Accountants

·         Engineers

·         IT Professionals

·         Nurses

·         Teachers

·         Chef, Cook and Bakers

·         Building and Metal Trades

·         Automotive Mechanics

For most occupations on the list, the applicant is required to have a minimum of 6 in each component of IELTS and 3 years work experience. These changes make it significantly easier for many applicants to obtain Australian visa.

The NSW Government may nominate you for a subclass 190 (Skilled Nominated) or a subclass 489 (Skilled Regional Sponsored) visa to the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) if you meet all the criteria and hold the appropriate qualifications.
