Enhanced Visa Programme Between Australia And Singapore
Peter Dutton, Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, made an announcement pertaining to strengthening Australia-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
The introduction of two new arrangements is designed to enhance tourism, youth mobility and firming up of business links between the Australia and Singapore. Both parties settled in an arrangement with regards to the implementation of both work and holiday visa arrangement for young adults from the two countries.
According to Mr. Dutton, this arrangement will simply allow people aged 18 to 30 years old to travel, study and work in each other’s country. “This new arrangement will promote cultural exchange and strengthen people-to-people links by creating opportunities for young people to travel and undertake short-term work and study to supplement their holiday experience,” he added.
This is a good arrangement you should look forward to if you are planning to migrate to Australia from Singapore or vice versa. Other than that, the Australian Government has a plan also of introducing an option of a long validity, multiple-entry visitor visa for Singaporeans who would want travel to Australia.
The Department of Home Affairs is set to work closely with Singapore to have this enhancement on the visa programme be implemented soon.
